Addressing Food Deserts

Urbanite Project 2012, Healthy Food Challenge Q&A
When: Tue., March 6, 5-6 p.m.
Patricia and Arthur Modell Performing Arts Center at the Lyric
140 W Mount Royal Ave, Baltimore

From Urbanite:

Last year’s Urbanite Project tackled Redline construction; this year we’ve set our sights on the city’s silent dilemma: food deserts. You’re invited to the Lyric for the Urbanite Project 2012: Healthy Food Challenge Q&A session. Urbanite staff and our partners from the Baltimore City Health Department, the Maryland Department of Agriculture, United Way of Central Maryland, and Stratford University come together to answer your questions. Shocked by the fact that two-thirds of the city’s adults and forty-percent of its high schoolers are overweight or obese, we’re looking for people with big ideas about how to make Baltimore healthier by making nutritious food accessible to all.
