Who wants To Be An Urban Farmer? -Workshop

Baltimore Green Week & Real Food Farm presents:

The second “Who Wants to be an Urban Farmer” is a morning of workshops that provide the opportunity to learn specific production techniques utilized at urban farms in Baltimore, Maryland. Each workshop will present a different specialized tool to growing food for production in Baltimore City. The workshops will be focused on urban farming and production, and presented in a scope and scale able to be transferred to backyards and open urban green space. The best recipients of the workshops will be new urban farmers, and home and community gardeners looking to improve their operations with efficiency, diversification, and output.

 Topics will include:

  • urban chickens
  • scaling up with appropriate tools
  • installing irrigation for less labor
  • season extension
  • plus more!

Please come join hundreds of Marylanders on Monday night April 2nd, 2012 as we form a “Circle of Support” around the Maryland State House in Annapolis to encourage lawmakers to embrace offshore wind power.


We’re going to make it super easy for you to get to Annapolis by chartering buses from Baltimore, Montgomery County and Prince George’s County. One 56-seat bus will be chartered from each area. Baltimore Food Truck Rally at the Maryland SPCA

On Friday, March 23, the Maryland SPCA is hosting a Baltimore Food Truck Rally at the from 5-8 p.m. Purchase delicious food from some of Baltimore’s best food trucks! Onboard are Souper Freak, The Gypsy Queen Cafe, GrrChe – Gourmet Grilled Cheese, Iced Gems Creations, Kooper’s Chowhound Burger Wagon and South Carolina BBQ & Catering. Beer and wine also will be available for purchase. See adoptable Maryland SPCA dogs and take a tour of the adoption center. Listen to music and win prizes from CBS Radio. A portion of the proceeds benefits the animals at the Maryland SPCA.

Admission is free. Parking is not available at the Maryland SPCA (3300 Falls Road), where the food trucks will be located. But, there is parking nearby in Hampden, including a parking lot at the Academy for College and Career Exploration (1300 W. 36th Street).
